Red velvet chocolate chip cookies !

Usually I don’t flow with the trend but this particular trend I think everyone will wanna follow. This was really good and very quick and easy.I am not gonna write about this one because I wanna release this recipe as fast as possible. Hope you like it. Happy baking!!

198 g all-purpose flour
32 g unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
115 g butter, softened.
200 g brown sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2.5 teaspoons red food coloring (liquid or gel)
180 g semi-sweet chocolate chips

Toss the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl. Set aside.

Beat the butter until creamy. Beat in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until combined. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Once mixed, add the food coloring and beat until combined. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Slowly beat until a very soft dough is formed. Beat in more food coloring if you’d like the dough to be redder. Beat in the chocolate chips. The dough will be sticky.

Cover the dough tightly with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour. Chilling is mandatory.

Preheat oven to 170C degrees. Line two large or 3 regular sized baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. Set aside.

Scoop 1.5 Tablespoons of dough and mold into a ball, as pictured above. Place 9 balls onto each baking sheet. Bake each batch for 10-11 minutes. The cookies may have only spread slightly, that is ok. Simply press down on the warm cookies to slightly flatten and form crinkles.

Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

  1. One day…. ONE DAY!…. I will get myself a real “uh-vin” and bake myself something. Till that day, I have to give myself excuses that baking is too tedious. All that preheating and stuff. You know what I want? I want to be able to cook like the way “Leelu” (the protagonist) cooks in the movie ‘The Fifth Element’: Just pop a few “seeds of food” into the microwave, wait for a second or two, and out comes a huge chicken with veggies included! Now that’s my idea of cooking! lol

By the way, you cooking aficionados, did you know who created the cooking measurements like “1 cup” and “1 tablespoon” that you guys use?

    Check it out:

I would love to hear from you!
